“Silk Mark”- Awareness Program

SGTU-Faculty of Fashion & Design planning to conduct an Awareness Program on "Silk Mark" on 14th February 2017 in Room No. 009, Ground Floor, A-Block, timing will be from 2:30pm-3:30pm
The resource person for this program is Mr. Shiv Govind, Assistant Director (Insp.) Central Silk Board, New Delhi, Ministry of Textile, Govt. of India. The program aims to identify the pure silk and helping students to be smart customers, and be able to locate right quality of silk when in the market and while working as entrepreneurs or designers in future.
He will explain the Silk Mark schemes & its benefits to common consumer. Also, aware about Silk products with Silk Mark tag and testing methods of pure Silk.

“Classroom to Corporate” – Interactive Session

SGTU-Faculty of Fashion & Design planning to conduct an Interactive Session on "Classroom to Corporate" on 22nd February 2017 in Room No. 009, Ground Floor, A-Block, timing will be from 10:00am-01:00pm.
Mr. Saurabh Kalra, Motivational speaker about Fashion Fields. He will guide fashion students for choosing a career in fashion designing and future scope in this field. It should be a long term project in one's life and it is one of the best paying industry today. Though this is a place to survive with healthy competition, the scale of its scope and opportunities never drop down. There is a choice of joining some fashion designing companies; manufacturing or export units or designing clothes to sell them in boutique. The most common areas of job spaces for people with fashion designing background are many like designing, production of cloths, textiles designing and lifestyle products etc.

Educational trip to “Jaipur”

SGTU-Faculty of Fashion & Design are planning for three days Educational trip to Jaipur from 9th-11th of March 2017. The trip will give freshness and cluster knowledge. They will also learn about Block printing, Block carving, Dyeing & Printing techniques, Sculpture art etc.
