Dr. Bhawana Goel is UGC (NET) qualified, Professor in Faculy of fashion in SGT university. She holds PhD in Fashion Designing (clothing and textiles). She brings with her a rich experience of 25 years in the field of teaching,research, training, extension and administration. She is the recipient of Young Scientist Award,Women Scientist Award by Uttarakhand State Science and Technology Congress, Best extension worker for rural women upliftment by Simaai(Communication, Multimedia and Infrastructure), Post Doctoral Women Scientist Award from UGC. She got PATENT on sustainable fashion fabric from NRDC. She works tirelessly for improving the status of women in society through education/skill development. She is efficient in handling various projects as project in charge, on Entrepreneurship Development Programme based on Technical Training on fashion designing ,designer traditional costumes to preserve the Cultural Heritage of India, Saving environment from pollution through innovative eco-friendly textiles, production of biodegradable eco friendly designer textile crafts to reduce the use of plastic, upliftment of traditional Indian crafts/costumes, value addition in traditional handloom fabric, embroidery etc., with various government departments i.e. Ministry of skill development, DGT-skill development initiative scheme, Ministry of MSME, Department of child development and women empowerment(Uttarakhand) Government of India, Department of Science and Technology,Govt. of India. SEED/WTP, ministry of culture, ministry of finance, Uttarakhand Handloom and Handicraft Development Council(UHHDC) and DC Handicraft DC(H).She has presented and won Best paper presentation Awards in various national and international conference, workshop etc. She is well proficient in organizing various fashion shows, exhibition, fairs, and trainings at college, university and state levels.”
