Fashion Design is the art of designing the garment & lifestyle products, which is both functional and aesthetically pleasing. Faculty of Fashion & Design at SGT University provides a great platform for the students who wants to develop their career in the field of creativity. Development of the students is taking place in various aspect but most importantly is the “Curriculum”.
Curriculum refers to a defined and prescribed course of studies, which students must fulfill in order to pass a certain level of education. The curriculum is reviewed and revised on a regular basis to serve the changes according to the corporate demand. Because of this revision in curriculum, students keep themselves updated with the latest technology and advancement. Industrial experts, professional designers, senior professor of education institutes would sit together to the layout of the curriculum, to assure both accuracy and professionalism.
Along with curriculum, “Teaching” is one of the main component in the educational planning which is a key factor in conducting educational plans. Good teaching methodology helps the students to question their preconceptions, and motivates them to learn, by putting them in a situation in which they come to see themselves as the authors of answers, as the agents of responsibility for change. To have an effective teaching, the faculty members follows the various teaching methodology such as Group Discussion, Role Play, Debate, Simulation Technique, Seminar, Case Study, Panel Discussion etc in terms of both theory and practical subjects. The best teaching approach is the mixed method (student-centered together with teacher-centered) plus educational planning and previous readiness.
Therefore, these are two factors i.e Curriculum Development and Effective teaching methodologies plays major role in development of a student in correct manner.
