Fashion Show on ‘WORLD DESIGN COSTUME’

On 3rd November 2023, a fashion show on the theme ‘World Design Costume’, taking cue from the recently held G20 Summit in India, was organised during the Diwali Fest in SGT University. The faculty of fashion design showcased their creativity by drawing inspiration from various cultures, traditions, and global aesthetics. The audience witnessed a fusion of different elements, textures, colours, and patterns from around the world that led to a creation of unique and innovative range of costumes.

The designs were conceptualised by the faculty and the students participated in the event as coordinators and models, getting a hands-on experience of managing a fashion event. They volunteered as coordinators for handling sound, backstage as well as choreography. Design inspiration for the costumes was taken from the traditional garments of G20 member nations which included countries like China, Japan, South Korea, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Indonesia, Russia, Italy, Mexico, United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, South Africa and India. The event showcased different types of silhouettes ranging from Abayas to Hanbok and from Hanfu to Gowns.

The objective of the fashion show was to celebrate diversity, promote cultural understanding, and showcase the beauty of global fashion traditions. The fashion show proved to be a mesmerizing spectacle, captivating the audience with a harmonious blend of creativity, style, and cultural diversity. From the moment the first model graced the runway, it was evident that the event was meticulously curated to deliver an unforgettable visual experience.
