On 13th May 2023, a group of final year students from FFAD department, SGT University visited Richaco export house based out of Udyog Vihar, Gurgaon. The purpose of the visit was to mainly get an understanding of how a garment export house operates.
Upon their arrival, the students were greeted by Mr. Gulshan Ahuja who is the General Manager of the company. He briefly gave an overview of the company’s background, departments, culture, and values.
They were then taken on a guided tour of the facility where they witnessed various departments like CAD, Production, Packaging, Finishing, Quality Control etc. and observed different garment production processes from end to end.
Overall, the experience at Richaco had been an enriching one for the students where they could relate their classroom learnings with the industrial experience and gain practical insight into the world of garment export business. Some of the students have also been offered an opportunity to undergo training at Richaco which has been highly appreciated by both students and management at SGTU.
