VISIT TO SURAJKUND MELA

Faculty of Fashion & Design organized a visit to the Surajkund Handicrafts Mela. It is a colorful traditional crafts fair and takes place in first half of February every year in Faridabad. More than 1000 stalls are set up in the fair by traditional craftsmen from various regions of the India and nearby countries, where the focus is kept on the sustainability of the handicrafts items and integration of different cultures. Textiles, accessories and cuisines from different states are the main attraction there.

The visit was organized on 10th Feb 2020 for all the faculty members and the students from all courses of Faculty of Fashion & Design. The handicrafts go hand in hand with the students of fashion design. The students witnessed various kinds of handicraft techniques and fabric artistry which is helpful in enhancing their practical knowledge also. The visit was refreshing along with being educational and was enjoyed by all the students and the faculty members.
