1st August, 2017 the induction program started with a welcome speech by Dean where students told about the college and future of the program. After, then Dean of the college organized an activity “be positive”, where he discussed the positivity among the batch. Then the department organized a cake cutting ceremony for the start of new batch followed by the introduction of students and teaching faculties organized by Ms. Swati. A presentation on the “Future of Fashion” was delivered by Mr. Vineet where new upcoming fashion is shown to the students. After the lunch, the class was overtaken by Ms. Monika where she told about “job avenues and opportunities in fashion” followed by an interesting Fashion Quiz. This way student founds their first day very mesmerizing and interesting.
The second day started with a lecture on discipline where University rules & regulations were discussed along with anti-ragging details & how to avoid it. Then special discussion on dressing sense & colors which students enjoyed and asked many questions for that. The program was followed by campus visit to all departments of the University premises. The second half was dedicated to a fashion inspiring movie “The Devil Wears Prada” it has given the fair idea about the fashion industry and its working pattern.
Third day is the star day, the Students appear very enthusiastic as the star King Khan and Anushka Sharma was arrived and they were made to reach the ground in the second half after a long wait as the star’s arrives everyone was in their full zeal & appearance to capture every moment of the stars. In the morning brainstorming session conducted which includes several mind games and events along with official information given by the university officials.
By the fourth day, students they knew each other’s name and they were quite comfortable. A lecture delivered over various rules of the college, classes, attendance, subjects they will be studying and evaluation scheme. The next round was a fun round where everyone participated in play and other activities. The second half of the day was dedicated to the fashion quiz for which three teams were formed and told them that the winning team would be rewarded, so everyone took it very seriously. The day finished with the discussion of personal experience about fashion and their thoughts.
The last day of induction, was pre planned to be an outbound trip to the nearest fashion retail outlets i.e. Ambience Mall [second largest in Asia]. Students were all geared up with their food, water bottles etc. Here the purpose of the visit was to make them understand as for how the products that are manufactured do are being placed and sold. The understanding of “Visual Merchandising” has been told to the students. Overall it was fun deployed with lots of knowledge and thoughts.
