The Amity University, Lucknow organized a fest under the name ‘AMIPHORIA 2020’ from 5th Feb to 7th Feb, 2020. SGT University ‘Faculty of Fashion & Design’ participated in Amity Designers Awards in the fest. The theme for the show was layers on layers. The students from B.Design 3rd year– Astitav, Sushmita, Akash and Pakhi presented the garments in the fashion show. Faculty member Mr. Akash Rawat accompanied the team where they showcased the transforming garments. A new dimension was given to the garments by transforming them on the spot with the help of fasteners. The name of the collection was ‘Chrysalis’. It was taken keeping a butterfly in mind. The way the pupa remains enclosed in the cocoon and then transforms into a magnificent butterfly is what this entire collection is all about. ‘Chrysalis’ is a concept of transforming garments. The idea of this project is to address the issue of ‘Fast Fashion’. Chrysalis is all what a fashion freak needs to have in their wardrobe.
There was a competition among 15 fashion shows from various Institutes/Universities, where Faculty of Fashion & Design of SGT University secured the 2nd position. The students of B. Design 3rd year were appreciated and motivated by the Pro Vice Chancellor of SGT University Prof. Gurpreet Singh Tutteja. Dean of Faculty of Fashion & Design congratulate the students and encourage to take part in the competitions as well.
